German politicians who were against helping Ukrainians were offered to go to war

Some members of the German parliament insist on reducing aid to Ukrainians who came to the country fleeing the war. It is, in particular, about the reduction of social benefits. Some politicians even use insulting epithets such as “lazy”, “cowards” to refugees. Such rhetoric was sharply criticized by the deputy editor-in-chief of BILD Paul Ronzheimer.
In Germany, there is an active discussion about providing refugees from Ukraine with civil assistance (Bürgergeld) in the amount of 563 euros per month. Our fellow citizens have the status of temporary protection, not the status of refugees. This allows you to receive higher payments. Previously, some politicians demanded that this amount of assistance be reduced to the standard refugee payments of 460 euros. However, the German government has stated that it does not plan to reduce the amount of aid.
The head of the CDU/CSU opposition faction in the Bundestag, Thorsten Frye, expressed the opinion that Ukrainians conscripted into the military should return home and fight. CDU MP Steffen Bilger noted that Ukrainians are queuing for housing and medical services that belong to Germans. BILD deputy editor-in-chief Paul Ronzheimer strongly objected to such claims.
“Ukrainians are lazy and cowardly? Shame on you, CDU! What happens to politicians who think like this and then write? I was stunned by two MPs from the CDU. Their words show that solidarity with Ukraine in some members of the party probably only goes so far , as long as it is profitable. As soon as the mood changes, pure populism, which is obviously designed to attract the voters of the AfD and BSW parties, is said to be “evading” the war, I recommend that they experience this war themselves , corpses, and death. Every night — the fear of not seeing the next morning. It’s true that there are Ukrainian men who don’t want to fight in Germany. But the one, who reproaches them as evaders, but lives in peace, should ask himself where his decency has gone. The rhetoric that Ukrainians are lazy deserters who evade military service and sat on our necks has nothing to do with the Christian Democratic Party. . Representatives of the party, which for years strengthened the war criminal Putin with its policies (gas, almost without sanctions, the Minsk agreements), are now daring to conduct an election campaign at the expense of Ukrainians – I simply have no words.” – stated Paul Ronzheimer.
