Great Britain has imposed new sanctions against Russia

The UK has added additional restrictions to its sanctions list against Russia, including 40 more companies and individuals. The list includes large energy corporations, banks and intermediaries that have helped circumvent international sanctions and supported the Kremlin’s actions. This was reported by the press service of the UK government.

The updated list includes key players in the Russian energy sector, including “Rosneft” and “Lukoil”. The sanctions also affected banking structures and financial institutions, including Solid Bank, BBR Bank, Transstroybank, “Primsotsbank” and “National Payment Card System” (NSPK), which participated in financial transactions that violate restrictions. The defense industry is separately mentioned – the company Pergam-Engineering JSC, which specializes in equipment diagnostics, was sanctioned.

The British government has also imposed sanctions against private and offshore companies registered in countries such as the UAE, China, Singapore, Turkey, India and Thailand. These companies helped Russia circumvent sanctions, provided technology supplies or contributed to supporting the Russian energy sector.

“All companies and individuals are accused of destabilizing Ukraine, supporting the Russian government or benefiting from cooperation with it”, – says the government document on sanctions.

The document also notes that violating sanctions legislation in the UK can be classified as a criminal offense.
