HACC imposed a ban on the sale of Medvedchuk’s property
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (SAC) has decided to ban the sale of seized property linked to Viktor Medvedchuk, a former MP from the banned OPZZ party. About this reported Head of the Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) Olena Duma.
The injunction applies to assets that have already been realized through the Prozorro system. Among them is a Maybach car, expensive watches, paintings, ATVs and buggies, the total value of which exceeds UAH 10.2 million.
“According to the court’s decision, the prohibition is justified by the possible risks of alienation and reduction in the value of assets belonging to the defendants or companies related to them. The court believes that the sale of these assets may make it impossible to fulfill the court decision in the event of the satisfaction of legal claims for their recovery in state income “, – the message says.
Olena Duma emphasized that part of the property has already been sold, and the received funds have been transferred to the state budget of Ukraine. At the same time, according to her, the decision of VAKS calls into question the legality of conducting such procedures through the Prozorro system. Sales and undermined confidence in the transparent management of seized assets.
According to the head of ARMA, it is especially surprising that the court did not involve the national agency in the case. At the same time, it was known that part of the assets, in particular the Gulfstream G650 aircraft and the Bell-427 helicopter, had already been transferred for the needs of the Armed Forces.
