How to get a discount on utility bills in Poland?
More than 3.5 million Polish households with relatively low incomes will be able to receive a discount on the payment of communal services – the so-called energy voucher. It is about compensation for electricity costs. Ukrainians in Poland can also use the benefit.
How much will the Polish government compensate?
The amount of compensation for an energy voucher can range from PLN 300 to PLN 1,200. The amount depends on the number of people in the household and on whether electric heating sources are used in the house/apartment.
If one person is registered in the accommodation, the amount of compensation for that person will be PLN 300. A payment of 400 zlotys is provided for households consisting of two or three people. If four or five people live in an apartment or house, they can receive PLN 500 in compensation. For apartments with six or more residents, the payment will be PLN 600.
If electric heating is used, the amount of compensation is doubled.
Conditions for obtaining an energy voucher
If a person lives alone, his income must not exceed PLN 2,500 to receive payment. As for households with more residents, here the income should not exceed PLN 1,700 per person (including children).
In order to receive an energy voucher, you must submit an application to the local government office between August 1 and September 30.
