In Germany, there was talk of Ukrainian men returning home
The head of the Interior of Hesse, Roman Posek, called for the return of Ukrainian men of conscription age who went to Germany to help Ukraine in the war.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the federal state of Hesse, Roman Posek, reports Daily Mirror.
“It may also include our help in ensuring that Ukraine can rely on people who have fled abroad but can be used in war. It is important to support Ukraine’s defense capability,” – he said.
On the one hand, Posek recognizes the importance of supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities and offers German assistance in mobilizing these men. On the other hand, Germany seeks to remain a “safe harbor” for refugees, and Posek recognizes the complexity and ambiguity of this issue.
Issuing German documents instead of Ukrainian ones is not considered, because, according to Posek, “Ukraine is not an illegitimate state.”
