India accuses Pakistan of shelling Kashmir’s border

The Indian military said that Pakistani units on the night of April 26 opened fire on Indian posts along the border in Kashmir. About this informs Associated Press.
According to the Indian side, Pakistani army troops opened fire on Indian positions “along the entire line of control” in Kashmir.
“Indian forces responded appropriately with small arms fire,” – said in the statement.
India stressed that the shelling by Pakistan was “unprovoked”. The message also states that there is no information about the victims. The day before, the Indian army had already reported shelling of its post in the Gurez sector on the night of April 25 from small arms. In the past, each side has repeatedly accused the other of inciting border skirmishes in the Himalayan region.
The escalation between Pakistan and India came after an attack on a group of tourists near the resort town of Pahalgam in Indian-controlled Kashmir left 26 people dead. Pakistan denied involvement in the attack, and the little-known militant group “Resistance Front” claimed responsibility for the attack.
In response, India blamed Pakistan and took a series of measures: halting the issuance of new visas to Pakistani citizens, canceling previously issued visas, closing the land crossing point between the countries, and suspending the Indus Water Treaty.
