Introduction after training under fire: when will NMT-2026 participants see results
Ukrainian graduates are taking the NMT in conditions that have long gone beyond the usual educational process. Some children were preparing for the exam after moving, distance learning, air raids, losing their schools, or forced study abroad, so the test results for them become not only an entrance stage, but also the culmination of years of education complicated by the war. In such a situation, it is especially important to understand how the answers to the tasks are converted into a competitive score, when the official results will appear, and why the score may change before final approval.
When will the participants of the main session of the NMT receive official results
Participants of the main session of the NMT-2026 should receive official results in their electronic offices by July 3. For those who will take the test during the additional session, the results should be published by July 29. Up to this point, the work goes through several stages of verification, during which test answers are checked against the keys, documents from examination centers are processed, and possible non-standard situations during testing are taken into account.
The first stage of the assessment looks technical, but the entire further procedure depends on it. The Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment calculates the sum of points for completed tasks, comparing the participant’s answers with the official keys. At this level, the initial result is recorded, which shows how many tasks a person completed correctly in accordance with the rules of a specific subject block.
For children who studied during the war, this stage is of particular importance, because behind each answer lies preparation in very different conditions. Some graduates had stable access to teachers and tutors, while others went through the program due to interrupted online classes, lack of electricity, or constant moving. Despite the different circumstances, the test score is calculated according to the same rules for all participants.
Why is the result on the 100–200 scale different from a simple calculation
After determining the initial test score, it is converted into a rating score on a scale from 100 to 200. For this, correspondence tables approved by the Ministry of Education and Science by a separate order are used. Such a score is used during the entrance campaign, therefore it is of decisive importance for the competition for universities.
The 100–200 scale does not work as an ordinary mechanical multiplication of correct answers. It takes into account the distribution of the results of the test participants, therefore the final score depends on the number of test points scored and the overall picture of the tasks performed by other applicants. Because of this, two different subjects may have different conversion tables, because the complexity of the tasks and the results of the participants do not always coincide.
What happens before the results appear in the e-office
Between taking the test and the appearance of the final result, the processing of materials from temporary examination centers continues. During this period, official documents are checked, the course of testing is recorded, and situations that could have affected the participation of individual applicants are considered.
For wartime graduates, such cases can be especially sensitive, because testing takes place in a country where air raids, technical failures, or other unforeseen circumstances can interfere with the process of passing. If non-standard situations arise during the exam, they must be considered before the final grade is recorded.
What document confirms the result
After completing all procedures, the final grade is entered into the NMT results list. This is an electronic document that is formed after each testing session and becomes the basis for further use of the score during admission.
For an applicant, it is not the initial test score that is important, but the rating score on a scale of 100–200, since with it he participates in the competitive selection. Therefore, it is worth carefully checking the result in the electronic account after its appearance and following all messages related to the admission campaign.
For the generation of schoolchildren who passed the senior classes during the war, the NMT became a test that combines academic preparation, psychological endurance and the ability to study in unstable conditions. The assessment will be carried out according to general rules, but the path to this test for many children was much more difficult than for pre-war graduates.
So, the official results of the main session should appear by July 3, and the additional one by July 29. By these dates, the test answers will be processed, the initial scores will be converted to a scale of 100–200, and possible non-standard situations will be taken into account before the final grades are entered. It is this rating result that will become the key for applicants to participate in the competition for places in Ukrainian universities.
