Kryvyi Rih experienced the largest missile and drone attack during the full-scale war

Kryvyi Rih has been subjected to a continuous missile and drone attack for the past day, which has become the largest in the entire time of the full-scale war. This is reported in the Telegram channel of the head of the city’s Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.

According to the city authorities, the combined shelling lasted for almost a day and was aimed at civilian infrastructure and residential areas. During the day, more than 70 strike drones and an “Iskander-M” ballistic missile were launched at the city. Residential buildings, schools and social facilities came under fire.

“This is deliberate terror against the civilian population”, – Vilkul emphasized.

The attack injured 13 people, including four children aged 1.5 to 10 years. Seven of the wounded remain in hospitals: four adults are in moderate condition, three children are in satisfactory condition.

18 houses were damaged, of which 13 were apartment buildings, one was actually destroyed, and another five were private. Administrative buildings, business facilities, two educational institutions, a cultural institution and cars were also damaged. Several fires broke out, which were quickly extinguished.

All utility and emergency services are working on the scene. 27 crews and more than 20 pieces of equipment are involved in the elimination of the consequences. Utility workers are helping residents temporarily close broken windows, and glazing and repair of 13 damaged roofs are planned in the future.

Over 3,100 subscribers remain without electricity due to the strikes, restoration work is ongoing. Water supply is being provided, some pumping stations are operating on generators, pressure reduction is possible. Boiler rooms were restarted at night, they are functioning. The movement of the light rail and some trolleybuses was temporarily stopped, but it was quickly restored.

More than 90 miners were blocked in the city’s mines due to the attack. The rescue operation lasted more than 10 hours, and by the morning all the miners were brought to the surface.

The city has aid headquarters for residents whose apartments and houses were damaged by the strikes. There you can get building materials and apply for financial assistance from the city. More than 70 families have already received the necessary materials, and applications for monetary compensation have been accepted from more than 100 families.

“Great gratitude to the State Emergency Service, police, doctors, utility workers, energy workers and volunteers who work in extremely difficult conditions, often under repeated threat of shelling”, – noted Vilkul.
