Latvia has blocked 12 sites that spread Russian propaganda

On September 17, the National Council of Electronic Media of Latvia (NEPLP) decided to block access to another 12 Internet resources that spread Russian propaganda. reported this by Delfi publication.

“The following sites are now unavailable in Latvia: baltija.site, baltija.eu, mk-chukotka.ru, prochukotku.ru, novomarinsk.ru, go-pevek.ru, gazetaingush.ru, ingushetia.ru, syzran-small.ru, samddn.ru, mysyzran.ru and anadyr.org”, says the message.

According to NEPLP, baltija.site and baltija.eu resources systematically spread one-sided and distorted information about the situation in Latvia, the Baltic states, Ukraine and the West in general. In particular, an interpretation of history favorable to the Kremlin and a positive image of Russia was formed on these sites. Other sites published materials justifying the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, calling for support for the Russian military and legitimizing the occupation and annexation of Ukrainian territories.

“Such content is capable of negatively affecting public unity in Latvia, inter-ethnic relations and support for Ukraine in the struggle for independence and territorial integrity”, NEPLP noted.

Previously, NEPLP has already made similar decisions on Internet resources that, according to the agency, spread Russian disinformation and propaganda.
