Learn to walk properly
Nowadays, there are few people who would walk beautifully and, most importantly, correctly. An interesting trend is observed: more and more men and women walk incorrectly and, even, do not think about it. However, automatic movements during our hikes can hide health problems, so it's never too late to learn how to walk properly.
Humans learn to walk during early development, when they are around 9-12 months old. With age, movements become so habitual that people do not pay attention to them. This is the mistake of most of us, because many do not know how to walk properly for health, and unknowingly harm themselves.
Correct gait is a wonderful attribute of an educated and healthy person. Since ancient times, wealthy families hired special teachers for their children, who taught them to walk. In particularly difficult cases, young ladies had to lie on their backs directly on the floor. It relaxed the body and helped the muscles to recover after intense physical exercises or a stressful day. In this position, the load on the spine is reduced, which has a positive effect not only on the posture, but also on the gait.
Unfortunately, the modern world is closely connected with smartphones and computers, so a sedentary lifestyle makes inevitable adjustments to both a person’s progress and his well-being. Often on the streets of the city you can see people who are going somewhere and at the same time do not take their eyes off the phone screen. Of course, there is no question of any technology in this case, because such dependence on the gadget simply does not give the user a chance to pay attention to the position of the head or back.
Bad posture negatively affects the maintenance of vital organs and muscles in tone. It is also reflected in bone health – the joints and spine are the first to know about it. With age, they wear out, so doctors categorically do not recommend accelerating the inevitable aging process. People with an incorrect gait seem physically or mentally ill to others, and this opinion is formed at a subconscious level.
The first thing to deal with is slouching. Due to it, the internal organs are located incorrectly, and some muscles atrophy. At the same time, the lungs will not be able to receive the required amount of oxygen, so blood circulation may be disturbed.
Correct walking technique
At first, you will have to regularly remind yourself of these four rules, but over time they will become a habit and you will be able to tell your friends how to walk properly.
- Keep your back straight. Don’t let her relax, no matter how tired you are.
- Remember that the chin should always be parallel to the floor.
- Take a step not from the knee, but from the hip.
- Try to direct the center of gravity to the heel, and then smoothly roll the foot to the nose and push off with the big toe.
Do not forget about the hands – their position should not restrain or limit anything. For this, it is necessary not only to move them along the body, but also to choose the right clothes.
An important factor is footwear and selection of the natural rhythm of walking. High-quality shoes with insoles will protect your feet from injury, and a properly selected walking rhythm will ensure an acceptable load on the joints.
And one more important fact! Now everywhere they write and talk about the fact that it is necessary to walk a lot to maintain health, they even use a pedometer for this. However, it should be remembered that if you walk incorrectly, it only wears out the joints and leads to diseases.
So, walk properly and be healthy!
