Mass protests against Fico’s government took place in Slovakia

In more than 20 cities of Slovakia, mass protests against the policies of the government of Prime Minister Robert Fico took place. The protesters’ slogan is “Slovakia is Europe”. informs News.

About 100 thousand people went to a protest in Slovakia. The “Peace of Ukraine” initiative and opposition political parties acted as organizers.

“Despite threats by senior constitutional officials about impending violence, possible provocations and a coup d’état, all gatherings were peaceful and held in a dignified and peaceful spirit”, says the press release.

To ensure order during the rallies, law enforcement officers introduced additional security measures, urging participants to follow police instructions and behave with respect for others. In many cities of Slovakia, thousands of people took part in the actions. For example, about 15,000 people protested in Kosice, the country’s second largest city.

In some cities, contractions were also held under the slogan “Slovakia is not Ukraine”. About 40 people gathered for a similar action in Bratislava. Earlier, the Slovak opposition proposed holding an extraordinary session of the parliament to consider the issue of a vote of no confidence in the government of Prime Minister Robert Fico.
