May 1: holidays and events on this day

If today you haven’t told your loved ones that you love them, then fix it as soon as possible, because there is a special reason – May 1 is celebrated as the World Day of Love. In addition, don’t forget to congratulate colleagues who have been working alongside you all this time not only out of a sense of duty, ambition, and other reasons, but also out of solidarity. And May 1 – the date of the creation of Great Britain, the opening of the “Empire State Building” and the foundation of the Illuminati society. In addition, today is a holiday for philatelists – the anniversary of the creation of the first stamp.
Holidays and commemorative dates:
International Labor Day – On May 1, 1886, trade union demonstrations in support of the 8-hour work day were held in Chicago and other US cities. Protests in Chicago were supposed to be part of several days of actions. On May 3, the strike at the McCormick Reaper plant turned into a violent protest. The next day, a peaceful rally in Haymarket Square became massive. However, after ten o’clock in the evening it started to rain and only a few hundred of the 3,000 demonstrators remained on the square.
The last speaker finished speaking as a delegation of 180 police officers left the station to disperse what was left of the rally. They stopped not far from the stage. When the captain ordered them to disperse and the speaker shouted that it was a peaceful assembly, a bomb flew into the ranks of the police. 67 policemen were wounded, seven of whom died. The police opened fire, killing several men and injuring 200 protesters.
In 1889, the International Socialist Conference, in memory of the Haymarket affair, declared May 1 International Labor Day.
World day of love – this is not a holiday of love for two, it is intended to honor love for everything – relatives, delicious food, beautiful things, etc.
