One of the voivodeships in Poland will simplify the application for a residence card

Poland continues to improve the processes related to the legalisation of foreigners’ stay. In the Greater Poland Region, new rules for applying for a residence card came into force. This simplification became necessary in view of the increase in the number of applicants, including Ukrainians seeking to stay in Poland for a longer period of time.

Where the new rules apply

The new conditions apply to the Greater Poland Voivodeship. From now on, documents for a residence card must be submitted exclusively by post to the Office for Foreigners in Poznan or to one of the delegations in Kalisz, Konin, Leszno and Pila.

Addresses to which documents can be sent

  • Poznan:
    Wielkopolski Urząd Wojewódzki w Poznaniu
    Wydział Spraw Cudzoziemców
    plac Wolności 17
    61-739 Poznań
  • Kalisz:
    ul. Kolegialna 4, 62-800 Kalisz

What is a residence card and what benefits does it provide to Ukrainians?

A residence permit is a document that allows foreigners, including Ukrainians, to stay in Poland for more than 90 days within six months. In fact, it avoids the need to apply for a visa to cross the border. This permit can be either temporary or permanent. Now the application process has been greatly simplified, and for many citizens, Poland is becoming even more accessible for long-term residence.

A residence card is not only a document for staying in Poland, but also a tool for accessing many rights and opportunities in Poland. Among the main advantages:

  1. Unlimited crossing of the Polish border without visa requirements.
  2. No need to renew a visa if it was issued earlier.
  3. The right to stay in Schengen countries for up to three months without additional visas.
  4. Possibility to apply for visas to the USA and the UK while in Poland.
  5. The right to purchase real estate and register it in your own name.
  6. Possibility to buy a car and register it in your own name.

These advantages make the residence card an attractive document for many foreigners, including Ukrainians who are actively integrating into Polish society.

How to submit documents

You can apply for a residence permit electronically using the MOS portal. At the same time, lawyers recommend filling out all the documents carefully to avoid delays. If you encounter any difficulties, you can always seek expert advice.

Insurance is a mandatory document

Do not forget about the importance of insurance, especially for those planning short-term trips. The insurance policy must meet the requirements of the Polish authorities, so a careful choice of an insurance company is an integral part of preparing for border crossing.

Simplifying the application process for a residence card in the Greater Poland Region is another step by Poland to facilitate migration processes for foreigners. These changes open up more opportunities for Ukrainians, providing them with a wide range of rights and privileges that contribute to successful integration into Polish society.
