Orbán accused Zelenskyy of disrupting the “Christmas truce”

Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban stated that offered Ukraine and Russia to establish a Christmas truce and conduct a large-scale exchange of prisoners. However, according to him, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy “resolutely refused this idea”.

“At the end of the Hungarian EU presidency, we made new efforts for peace. We made a proposal for a Christmas ceasefire and a large prisoner exchange. How sad that President Zelenskyi clearly refused and ruled it out today. We did what we could!”, – noted Orban.

Such statements of Orban are connected with the reaction of Zelensky, who sarcastically commented on his next call to Putin. At the same time, the Hungarian prime minister did not specify whether he directly discussed the truce with Zelenskyi and Putin.

The Office of the President of Ukraine reacted to the statement of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban regarding the alleged refusal of Volodymyr Zelenskyi from the Christmas truce. The Office emphasized that no discussions were held with the Ukrainian side on this issue.
