Orban said that NATO is planning a “military mission” in Ukraine: details
Hungary refused to take part in the military mission on the territory of Ukraine, which is planned to be conducted by a group of NATO member countries.
About this stated Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, emphasizing his country’s holistic approach to international relations and security. Orbán noted that Budapest has already held consultations with the NATO leadership on this issue, but did not elaborate on the nature of the mission itself.
“We have agreed this not only with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, but also with the possible new Secretary General Mark Rutte. No one from NATO will put pressure on Hungary“, – noted Orban, emphasizing his position regarding the independence of choice in participation in international operations.
The Hungarian Prime Minister expressed doubts about the ability of Ukraine and its allies to defeat Russia in the conflict.
“The West wants to win, but I think it is hopeless. Even if it succeeds, the price will be so high that it is not worth it“, Orbán said, reinforcing his words with negative consequences for the civilian population and future generations.
