Putin and Lukashenko will discuss Ukrainian president’s statements regarding repeaters: Peskov

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Vladimir Putin may soon discuss with Alexander Lukashenko Ukraine’s demand to dismantle the repeaters that correct Russian drone strikes on Ukrainian cities. This was reported by the Russian Interfax news agency.

This is a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on June 19. He said that Lukashenko has a week to remove the relevant equipment, otherwise Ukraine will do it.

“Indeed, and you know that Alexander Grigorovich said this, in the near future Putin plans to establish contacts. This will be a good opportunity to discuss these and other issues,” Peskov noted.

The Kremlin called Kyiv’s demand a threat and interference in the internal affairs of another state. Peskov also said that Moscow has no doubts about the Belarusian leadership’s ability to ensure the country’s sovereignty.

“But we have no doubts that the Belarusian leadership and Belarus itself are able to ensure their sovereignty,” he added.

Earlier, Zelenskyy said that Russia was trying to drag Belarus into war, in particular for a possible operation against one of the NATO countries. Against this background, the Ukrainian military reported the identification of targets on the territory of Belarus, and Lukashenko responded with threats, after which he stated that Minsk was not planning military action against Ukraine.

The situation around the repeaters became another element of tension between Kyiv and Minsk against the background of Belarus’ participation in supporting the Russian war against Ukraine.
