Republicans plan to challenge US election results: Reuters

The team of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is convinced that the Republicans are preparing to challenge the US election results through litigation. This is reported by Reuters.

In the state of Arizona, an organisation founded by Donald Trump’s adviser Stephen Miller proposes to give judges the ability to annul election results due to ‘fraud or irregularities’ by local officials. The lawsuit provides for the possibility of calling for re-elections in districts where Kamala Harris is ahead of Donald Trump.

In Michigan, Republicans have gone to court to restrict government agencies’ access to expanded voter registration, ban the use of mobile voting machines, and impose stricter requirements for verifying mail-in ballots.

In Nevada, they are trying to remove from the voter rolls citizens deemed ineligible to vote because they are allegedly not US citizens.

In Pennsylvania, Trump supporters are trying to introduce stricter rules for voting by mail and limit the ability to correct ballot errors.

The Republican National Committee is already involved in more than 120 lawsuits in 26 states, which experts say is part of a strategy to undermine confidence in the electoral system.
