Romania announced the downing of a drone on its territory during Russian strikes on the Odessa region

On the night of November 11, the crash and possible debris of a drone during another Russian attack on southern Ukraine were recorded in Romania. This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.

The defense agency’s radars detected the presence of drone groups near the country’s national airspace, which led to the preventive activation of air defense systems. Due to difficult weather conditions in southeastern Romania, aircraft performing patrol missions were unable to take off.

At 00:07, an air alert was declared for the population of the northern part of Tulcea County. On the Ukrainian side of the Danube, near the port of Izmail, a large number of explosions were recorded.

“At 01:09, the Ministry of National Defense was informed about the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Grindu area, approximately 5 km south of the border. Groups of military personnel arrived at the scene and reported the presence of possible drone debris,” — the message says.

The area of ​​the incident was surrounded for investigative actions.

As a reminder, on the night of November 11, Russian troops carried out a massive drone attack on the south of the Odessa region. As a result of the strikes, energy facilities, transport infrastructure, and the “Ukrzaliznytsia” depot were damaged. and administrative buildings, one person was injured.
