Russia launches largest attack on Kryvyi Rih since full-scale invasion

Kryvyi Rih suffered the largest Russian attack since the beginning of the war. The alarm was announced at 14:41 on January 7 and lasted until 00:37 on January 8. The first explosions were recorded at around 16:00, the last – approximately at 00:20.

The shelling injured 8 people, two of whom were hospitalized. Two private businesses were damaged, and infrastructure in the Kryvyi Rih district was destroyed. In the evening hours, a partial blackout occurred in some areas of the city, reported in the Dnipropetrovsk ODA.

A difficult situation is observed in the Ingulets and part of the Metallurgical districts. 29,360 subscribers have been disconnected in an emergency. Water in the south of the city is supplied through generators, the situation has stabilized. Power engineers are working, but the exact time of restoration of electricity supply is currently unknown. The city authorities urged residents to contact the “Invincibility Points” to charge gadgets, heat and receive necessary assistance.

Due to emergencies on power lines, the movement of some trams has been temporarily changed. All boiler houses in the city are operating normally, except for one in the Ingulets district, which is powered by a generator. Hospitals are operating on backup power. Schools and kindergartens there have temporarily switched to distance learning.
