President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated, that the Russian military is trying to hide the death of representatives of the North Korean contingent fighting on the side of the aggressor country against Ukraine.
“Even after years of war, when it seems that there can be no more cynicism from the Russians, we still see something worse,” he emphasized. “There were efforts to keep the presence of soldiers from North Korea a secret. While they were being trained, they were even forbidden to show their faces.” The Russian military tried to delete any video evidence of their presence, and now, after the battles with our boys, the Russians are trying to… faces of killed North Korean soldiers“, Zelensky emphasized.
According to the president, such actions are a clear indication of Russia’s contempt for humanity and human life.
“There is no reason for the Koreans to fight and die for Putin. And even after they die, only mockery awaits them from Russia. This madness must be stopped – stopped with a reliable and lasting peace and Russia’s responsibility for this cynical war.”, he added.
In his address, Zelenskyi emphasized that Russia seeks to hide the losses among the military from the DPRK, however, the published footage shows North Korean soldiers after storming Ukrainian positions. Attempts to burn the faces of the dead were also recorded, which is confirmed by the textual explanations for the video.
