German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated, that the Russian Federation loses up to 24,000 personnel every month in the war against Ukraine.
“There are data indicating that 24,000 Russian soldiers are killed or seriously wounded every month“, said Scholz.
According to Scholz, these losses, as well as the deaths of Ukrainian military personnel, are the result of the “imperialist megalomania” of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He emphasized that Putin violated the principle of inviolability of borders, considering Ukraine and Belarus to be parts of Russia.
According to open sources, journalists and volunteers have established the names of more than 50,000 dead Russian soldiers as of April 2024. Ministry of Defense of Great Britain estimates the possible losses of Russia in this war to 450 thousand people, and the head of the US CIA spoke about 315,000 dead soldiers of the Russian Federation as of January 2024.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine estimated the losses of the personnel of the Russian Armed Forces in over 502 thousand people – killed and wounded – as of May 27, 2024.
