Shmyhal called on Croatian companies to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine

During his official visit to Croatia, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, met with representatives of Croatian business and invited them to participate in projects to restore Ukraine. informs Government portal.

The head of the government outlined the promising areas of cooperation, among which recovery takes a key place. He noted that Ukraine has clear priorities in this area, the first of which is energy.

“We lost almost 10 GW of generating capacity due to Russian drone and missile attacks. We strive not just to restore them, but to build a new energy system with a high share of renewable energy sources in generation”, – explained Shmyhal.

He called construction, in particular housing, the second important direction. The Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that more than 10% of Ukraine’s housing stock has been destroyed, and Croatia has significant experience in reconstruction after the conflicts of the 90s. Therefore, Ukraine is counting on the involvement of Croatian companies that will be able to bring new technologies and modern approaches.

We will remind that Ukraine and Croatia signed an agreement on cooperation in the defense-industrial complex. With this agreement, Croatia establishes its obligation to support Ukraine until victory in the war. Among other things, it is about cooperation between the defense industry, determination of prospects for joint defense production, and localization of projects in Ukraine.
