Shooting occurred in the US while extinguishing a forest fire: there are fatalities

In the state of Idaho (USA), during the extinguishing of a forest fire, an unknown person opened fire with a rifle at fire and rescue service workers, as a result of which two people died. About this informs BBC.

According to the police, the attacker set up an ambush near the town of Coeur d’Alene. There is an assumption that he did not act independently. After arriving at the scene of the incident, the law enforcement officers opened fire in return, which led to a shootout. Residents were advised to avoid the Mount Canfield area. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced the involvement of FBI agents to provide tactical and operational support to local police.

“This is a despicable direct attack on our brave firefighters. As the situation is still evolving, please stay away from this area as much as possible to allow law enforcement and firefighters to do their job.”– said Governor Brad Little.

The Kootenay County Sheriff’s Office says a man’s body has been found after a lengthy shooting on Mount Canfield. A firearm lay on the ground next to him.

We will remind, on June 14, there was also a shooting in Minnesota – a member of the House of Representatives, Melissa Hortman, was killed, and Senator John Hoffman and his wife were wounded. Less than a month earlier, two Israeli embassy employees were shot dead in Washington, not far from the Jewish Museum and the FBI office.
