SSU exposes enterprise in Dnipropetrovsk region that helped Russia create nuclear laboratories

Security Service of Ukraine exposed an enterprise in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which is involved in assisting the Russian Federation in the construction of laboratories for the development of nuclear weapons. According to the investigation, the owner of a Ukrainian company specializing in the production of construction materials participated in the organization of these criminal schemes.
After the start of a full-scale war, representatives of the factory belonging to this company transferred a large batch of finished products to Russia – stainless steel profiles. This metal was used by the occupiers to furnish office premises in one of the Russian nuclear research institutes. On the basis of this institute, according to the SBU, the Russian side is working on the development of new models of missile weapons with nuclear charges.
To hide the criminal shipments, the scheme participants used a complex re-export mechanism. At first, Ukrainian products were sent to a controlled company in the Middle East, and from there they were shipped to Russian customers. The chief accountant of the Ukrainian company was responsible for maintaining the financial documentation that masked these deliveries.
During searches of the company’s premises, as well as the residences of persons involved in the crime, the investigators of the Security Service seized mobile phones, computers and documentation confirming illegal activities in favor of the Russian Federation.
At this moment, the owner of the enterprise and three of his subordinates have been charged with suspicion under Part 1 Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the aggressor state). Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
Persons involved in this crime can receive up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. Investigative actions are ongoing, and the SBU continues its work to identify possible accomplices and additional facts of criminal activity.
