Syrskyi urged Ukrainians not to hesitate and defend the state, fulfilling their constitutional duty

At the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, thousands of citizens voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, territorial defense and volunteer organizations. Emotions and patriotic upsurge prompted many to make a quick decision to defend the Motherland. Ukrainians from various regions and professions actively joined the struggle for independence. But over time, especially after almost three years of war, the voluntary flow of those willing to join the army decreased significantly. Social fatigue, unfair mobilization and fear of danger have led to the fact that new waves of mobilization are met with some resistance or misunderstanding.
In such a situation, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky called on citizens to fulfill their constitutional duty and join the defense of the state. In an interview “Radio Bayraktar” the general emphasized the importance of replenishing the ranks of the Ukrainian army, which has a flexible training system and allows everyone to find their place in the defense of the Motherland.
According to Oleksandr Syrskyi, the modern system of military recruiting in Ukraine is designed so that everyone can find a role according to their abilities or experience. Whether it’s an unmanned aerial vehicle operator, a gunner, or an infantryman, every contribution is important. The general urged not to be afraid of difficulties, but to trust the experience of military specialists and strive for victory.
“First of all, you don’t have to doubt whether to join the Armed Forces, you have to fulfill your constitutional duty. We have such a flexible and democratic system that you can choose a part and specialty for which you have the skills or experience.
If a citizen voluntarily chooses through recruiting centers a brigade that “has traditions” or wants to become an unmanned aerial vehicle operator, he can do so. Therefore, there is no need to be afraid. You have to go and win.” – urged the head of the Armed Forces.
The commander-in-chief also drew attention to the fact that, despite the successes of the Ukrainian army, resources are always limited.
“There are never enough forces and means in war” – he emphasized.
According to the general, the rational use of what is available allows not only to defend, but also to prepare for new offensive operations. Syrskyi added that the Ukrainian military is already working on planning new counterattacks.
According to Sirskyi, the ongoing Kursk operation has become an important morale boost for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Successes at the front not only raised the morale of the military, but also inspired society. The operation showed that Ukraine is capable not only of defending itself, but also of inflicting defeats on the enemy.
Despite this, the general emphasizes that victory depends not only on the efforts of the army, but also on the support of society. Every citizen who decides to join the Armed Forces makes a contribution to the future of Ukraine.
“The Kursk operation significantly motivated our military personnel and raised the mood not only in our troops, but also in society, and gave us hope that this offensive will not be the last.
We must learn to fight, to win, to draw conclusions from our own mistakes. It is necessary to prepare not only for defense, but also for attack.” – noted Sirsky.
