The ability to book a specific time to cross the border for buses will be introduced at four more border crossing points in 2026

The ability to book a time to cross the border by bus will appear in 2026 at four border crossing points: Shehyni, Krakovets, Ustyluh and Palanka. Currently, a live queue with electronic registration is operating at these points, but after the introduction of the slot system, traffic will become more stable.

Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Serhiy Derkach reported that after the ban on changing the queue at the border, about 3,000 trucks pass daily, and this figure no longer fluctuates by 200–500 cars, as it did before.

December 12, 2025 will mark three years since the launch of the electronic queue at the border. The pilot project started on December 12, 2022 at the Yagodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint. During this time, more than 2.2 million cars and buses have crossed the border through the electronic queue. Currently, the system works at all checkpoints in Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Community Development, in 2025, the five most popular checkpoints for trucks will look like this:

  • Yagodyn – Dorohusk (Poland) – 524.6 thousand;

  • Krakivets – Korchova (Poland) – 281.6 thousand;

  • Porubne – Siret (Romania) — 233.5 thousand;

  • Chop – Záhony (Hungary) — 205.4 thousand;

  • Szegyny – Medyka (Poland) — 172.4 thousand.

The most popular checkpoints for buses in 2025:

  • Shegyny – Medyka (Poland) — 37.9 thousand;

  • Yagodyn – Dorohusk (Poland) — 36.9 thousand;

  • Krakyvets – Korchova (Poland) — 36.5 thousand;

  • Rawa-Ruska – Hrebne (Poland) — 26.9 thousand;

  • Porubne – Siret (Romania) — 26.4 thousand.

In September 2025, Ukraine updated the registration procedure for crossing the border. Now, for most carriers, the only window for crossing the border is the “eQueue” system, while only some categories of drivers need to additionally use the “18-60” module, known as “Shlyakh”.
