The European Union may impose tariffs on several Ukrainian products
The EU monitors the situation regarding products that are sensitive for the market of European countries.

Ukraine came close to the established quotas for the supply of chicken, corn and honey to the European Union, stated European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski.
The closest to exceeding the limits is honey: its export already reaches 89% of the established volume. As for corn and chicken, their figures are 67% and 59%, respectively.
In accordance with the current EU regulation, an “emergency braking” mechanism is provided for certain categories of products. This mechanism should be activated automatically if the import volumes reach the average annual imports registered between July 1, 2021 and December 31, 2023.
Earlier, the European Union introduced emergency tariffs on the import of two types of agricultural products from Ukraine – sugar and eggs – to appease European farmers.
In May, the EU approved the extension of “trade visa-free” for Ukraine until June 5 next year. The regulation includes two safeguards to protect the interests of European producers. One of them foresees the possibility of introducing quotas for some products, such as poultry, eggs, sugar, corn and honey, if necessary.
