The government exempted orphans and children deprived of parental care from paying for issuing foreign passports
From now on, legal representatives of orphans and children deprived of parental care who are temporarily relocated outside of Ukraine are exempted from payment for automated data processing when issuing a passport for travel abroad.
About this informs Ministry of Reintegration.
This was made possible thanks to the amendments to Cabinet resolutions No. 152 dated May 7, 2014 and No. 285 dated April 5, 2017, which were adopted by the Government. The draft act was developed by the Ministry of Social Policy.
The issue of exemption from payment for the registration of passports was raised during the meetings of the Coordination Headquarters for the Protection of Children’s Rights under Martial Law, which is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
Previously, the consular fee for status children was not charged when issuing passports at foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine. However, the service was not free, as a fee for automated data processing was charged for processing the passport application.
According to the adopted changes, legal representatives of orphans and children deprived of parental care are exempted from paying for this service.
