The Government of Ukraine will provide apartments for war-affected families in new buildings
New housing complexes will include a social component from the developer: some apartments will be available for families who lost their homes due to the war or need additional support. announced the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba during a working trip to Irpen.
“Irpin is actively being developed. New residential complexes are being built next to restored houses. This is a positive signal for the development of the city, but at the same time a challenge: the new development must take into account the interests of the community and people who have lost their homes. This will mean that developers will offer a certain percentage of apartments under special conditions for families affected by the war or in need of additional support. This approach will combine recovery and development with affordable housing for people. Irpin will become a pilot city for this practice,” noted Oleksiy Kuleba.
At the same time, the Recovery program continues to work. In Kyiv region, almost 16.5 thousand families have already received compensation in the amount of more than UAH 2.2 billion. More than 4,000 families took advantage of certificates for new housing or started building their own houses, while more than UAH 8 billion were paid to people.
During the working trip, the minister inspected the reconstruction progress, talked with local residents and contractors. Note that the Kyiv region has already been restored by 80%, which is more than 24,000 objects out of 30,000 damaged or destroyed — among them residential buildings, schools, hospitals and other infrastructure.
