The government plans to provide financial assistance to young refugees who wish to return to Ukraine
In recent years, there has been a massive outflow of youth from Ukraine, which poses serious threats to the demographic situation and the stability of the labor market. Many young people are leaving the country due to war, temporary occupation, or economic difficulties, which leads to a reduction in labor resources and a potential loss of qualified personnel in the coming years. In response to this problem, the government is introducing a new financial support program aimed at encouraging the return of young people to Ukraine and facilitating their social and economic integration.
Main conditions for receiving financial assistance
The government is introducing a new initiative aimed at assisting Ukrainian youth returning to their homeland after forced displacement, deportation, or stay in temporarily occupied territories. The main goal of the program is to create conditions for rapid social adaptation, solve everyday needs and provide an opportunity to continue education in Ukraine, which is especially relevant for young people aged 18 to 23.
The amount of the one-time payment will be 50,000 hryvnias, which allows you to cover the very first expenses associated with returning to your homeland, including arranging housing, purchasing necessary things and preparing for the educational process. This assistance can be received by young people who can document their return from territories previously under the control of the aggressor, or from countries where they were internally displaced persons or deported.
In addition to financial assistance, the state plans to provide social support for young people, which includes counseling on rights and responsibilities, assistance with employment, and temporary housing for the adaptation period. Particular attention is paid to providing opportunities for education, which includes assistance in entering secondary and higher education institutions, as well as access to professional courses and trainings that contribute to faster integration into the socio-economic environment.
Document submission procedure
Young Ukrainians under the age of 23 can independently apply for one-time financial assistance through the State Service for Children.
To process the payment, it is necessary to provide a passport, taxpayer identification number (if any), and a document confirming the fact of returning to Ukraine. The entire process is aimed at simplifying procedures and minimizing bureaucratic obstacles so that assistance is available as quickly as possible upon return.
The European Union countries are undergoing changes in the policy of supporting Ukrainian citizens abroad. In particular, the Czech Republic is considering restrictions on programs for simplified long-term residence, which indicates the gradual replacement of emergency social benefits with stricter integration requirements. In the context of such transformations, the Ukrainian government seeks to provide young people with the necessary resources and social support so that their return to their homeland is as painless and predictable as possible.
