The Ministry of Defense codified the Ukrainian armored car “Jura”
The car is characterized by compact dimensions and relatively low weight.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially codified and put into operation the new domestically produced armored vehicle “Jura”, created to perform various tactical tasks. About this informs press service of the department.
The Jura armored car is built on the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 chassis and is equipped with a specially designed armored capsule that provides a high level of protection against small arms. The design also allows you to install a machine gun on the turret.
Due to its compact size and relatively low weight, “Jura” demonstrates excellent passability. Ukrainian engineers improved the car’s suspension, and the range of the armored car exceeds 650 km.
“Jura” can be manufactured in various configurations: for reconnaissance, patrolling, logistical tasks, evacuation of the wounded and other missions.
Since March 2022, more than 110 samples of domestic and foreign-made automotive equipment have been admitted to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which 60 samples have been put into service in the last five months.
Since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has also codified and approved for operation more than a hundred samples of ammunition of various types, almost half of which have received approval since the beginning of 2024.
The Ministry of Defense noted that the commissioning of new armored vehicles, such as “Jura”, will increase the combat capability of Ukrainian military units. He emphasized the importance of supporting domestic manufacturers of military equipment, which are actively developing new solutions for the protection and efficiency of the Ukrainian military.
