The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on information about Iran’s supply of missiles to Russia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed deep concern over information about the transfer of Iranian-made missiles to Russia. In his statements, published on September 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Iran to immediately stop supplying weapons to the aggressor state, which violates international norms and threatens security.

The Ukrainian side emphasized that Russia, according to the UN Charter and international law, is an aggressor that has been attacking Ukraine every day for more than two years using various types of weapons, including Iranian Shahed drones. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that military-technical cooperation between Russia and Iran poses a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to global security.

“We call on the world community to increase pressure on Tehran and Moscow for the protection of international peace and security. Iran must completely and definitively stop supplying Russia with weapons in order to prove with actions, not words, the sincerity of its political leadership’s statements about its non-involvement in fueling the Russian war machine of death.”, said the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On September 6, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran had transferred several hundred missiles, probably Fath-360 ballistic missiles, to Russia. European and American officials said they were working on sanctions measures, including against Iranian companies and national carrier Iran Air, which could be banned from flying to Europe.
