The publication believes that after these debates, it became clear that “Biden is no longer the person he was four years ago,” when he was already trying to defeat Trump.

The newspaper expressed surprise that it was Biden who invited Trump to the debate on his own terms, but he “lost on his own terms.” The editors believe that the best service to voters now would be if Biden “announces that he will no longer be a candidate.” The paper emphasized that Democrats have better leaders who can offer clear, compelling and energetic alternatives to a second Trump presidency.
