The Russian army began to actively use a new drone with LTE communication and the possibility of remote control in various areas of the front. About this reported The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the agency, the drone can perform the functions of a reconnaissance or strike device, as well as be used as a false target to overload the Ukrainian air defense system. The modification is equipped with a camera and two LTE modems, which provide real-time or recorded video transmission through mobile base stations, as well as receiving commands to change the course.
In the shock version, the camera (with a variable viewing angle) and the remote control system allow the operator to direct the device to the target according to the FPV principle. Structurally, the drone has a “delta-wing” type fuselage, similar to the Shahed-131 (“Geranium-1”), but somewhat smaller in size. For navigation, an anti-interference satellite positioning system with four patch antennas and Chinese Allystar modules is used.
About half of the components of the device are made in China (in particular, communication modules, minicomputer, power regulator, quartz generator). The DLE engine is located in the nose of the fuselage, which makes the drone most similar to the Italmas barrage munition, which is produced by the Russian company zala group.
