“The Russian Federation is preparing new anti-Ukrainian information operations in Europe, directed against Ukrainian refugees”: Vadym Skibitskyi

Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated during a discussion within the framework of the “New Country” project that Russia continues to intensify its information attacks on the international arena, using new propaganda operations directed against Ukrainian refugees in Europe. The purpose of these actions is not only to discredit Ukraine, but also to prevent those who were forced to leave the country due to the war to return home. These attempts by Russia to influence international public opinion and undermine support for Ukraine are becoming increasingly aggressive, in particular through the manipulation of facts and the spread of disinformation. About this too reported on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Literally for a whole year, the parliamentary commission of the State Duma of the Russian Federation collected the evidence base regarding Ukraine’s attitude towards children. We expect that Russia will dump all this on the international community, justifying, first of all, its armed aggression.” – stressed Skibitsky.
He also said that the Russians are already actively carrying out information operations in Europe, in particular in Italy, where they attract so-called journalists from the occupied territories of Ukraine to justify their actions. They organize presentations of various “artistic and documentary” books aimed at discrediting Ukraine.
“These are presentations of various “artistic and documentary” books allegedly about crimes of Ukraine on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
It is also important to emphasize that the Russian special services are actively working with Ukrainian citizens who have found refuge in Europe. They use various methods, such as creating societies, educating children and involving them in church activities, to destroy their national identity and convince them not to return to their homeland.
This is a very powerful work that the Russians have started: it is the creation of various societies, the education of children, the church – what is used to make our Ukrainians lose their identity, and even more so, so that they never return to us.” – explained Vadym Skibitskyi.
