The Ukrainian military already has laser technologies capable of hitting enemy targets. About this stated Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vadym Sukharevskyi.
Ukrainian developers are actively working on new methods of combating Russian drones and Shahed kamikaze drones.
According to Sukharevskii, laser technologies can already effectively hit objects at a certain height:
“R&D (Research & Development) is an innovative activity of the command, involves a number of directions. One of them, in terms of combating the enemy’s aircraft and its unmanned aerial systems, including the search for solutions in the fight against the Shaheds, led us to teams that are actively engaged in this. And yes, I repeat, laser technologies are now already hitting certain objects at a certain height.”
In addition to lasers, Ukrainian FPV drones began to actively destroy Russian reconnaissance drones, which significantly reduced the intensity of enemy reconnaissance flights.
“With this step, we really surprised the enemy. Sherlock has not heard such hysteria in the swamps for a long time”, – added Sukharevskyi.
We will remind that in December 2024, Ukrainian specialists began testing the new Trident laser weapon. Defense Express analysts then noted that the declared range and class of targets that this weapon can hit indicate its high technological level.
