The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft resolution on the appointment of Oleksiy Chernyshov to the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of National Unity. Later this decision was made, about what reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak
The initiator of the draft law was Andrii Zadorozhny, a people’s deputy from the “Servant of the People” party and the head of the committee on human rights, de-occupation, reintegration of temporarily occupied territories, national minorities and international relations.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced plans to create a “Ministry of Unity”. The new department is designed to strengthen ties between Ukrainians around the world, ensure their support and fight against Russian propaganda.
The main activity of this ministry will be aimed at preserving the ties of the diaspora with Ukraine, protecting national interests, as well as meeting the educational, cultural and informational needs of Ukrainians abroad. The President explained that the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are not enough to solve these problems. Therefore, the state should play a more active role in supporting citizens, regardless of their place of residence.
