Trump assured that he would not run for a third presidential term
US President Donald Trump has assured that he will not seek a third presidential term and does not plan to run for re-election in 2028. He noted that he is considering the possibility of supporting one of the leading representatives of his administration as a candidate from the Republican Party. About this informs NBC News.
“I’ll be president for eight years, I’ll be president for two terms. I’ve always thought it was very important,” – explained the American leader.
Trump emphasized that there are already “rising stars” in the Republican Party among the members of his team. He did not exclude that he would support one of them in the elections in 2028.
“A lot of people are selling the 2028 hat. But that’s not what I’m after. I want to have four great years and pass it on to someone, ideally a great Republican.”, – emphasized Trump.
Trump mentioned current Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as potential contenders for the US presidency in 2028. He also emphasized that there are “many wonderful” politicians in the Republican Party.
“It’s possible. I think he (Vance) is a fantastic, brilliant guy. Marco is great. There are a lot of great ones.” – concluded the US president.
