I agreed to the postponement – until July 9, 2025 – and it was an honor for me to do so. The president of the commission informed that the negotiations will begin promptly,” – said the US president.

At the same time, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen confirmed the fact of the conversation with Trump and noted that the European Union needs additional time to conclude a trade agreement. She stressed that the negotiations will take place “quickly and decisively”.
