US President Donald Trump intends to introduce tariffs on products from European Union countries. That’s what he’s about stated during a conversation with journalists at the White House.
“Will I impose tariffs on the EU? Do you want an honest answer or a political answer? Certainly. The EU treated us terribly.” Trump said.
He explained that the European Union does not accept American cars and agricultural products, and in general almost does not import goods from the United States. According to him, this led to a significant trade deficit between the US and the EU.
“We have a huge deficit with the EU. So we will do something very significant about the EU.” – added the president.
Trump also emphasized that the introduction of tariffs should allow the United States to correct the situation with a trade imbalance.
