Ukraine categorically rejects any initiatives that involve compromises regarding its sovereignty or territorial integrity. About this stated Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga during a speech at the meeting of the US Helsinki Commission in Washington.
As the minister noted, Ukraine will not accept proposals based on the principle of “land in exchange for peace”, because such agreements would mean leaving millions of Ukrainians under the control of the aggressor. This will inevitably lead to genocide, repression and torture, he emphasized.
Sybiga emphasized that it is impossible to reward Russia with territories, as this will not restore peace, but will only encourage it to new acts of aggression. According to the minister, the only way is the implementation of the Victory Plan for Ukraine, because Russia does not even show a desire to restore peace, continuing the policy of ultimatums and daily attacks.
Andrii Sybiga is convinced that only decisive and powerful actions can force the aggressor to sit down at the negotiating table on the terms of a just peace. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted that it is necessary to significantly increase the price of war for Russian President Vladimir Putin so that he realizes the impossibility of continuing aggression.
