Ukrainian children returned from the occupied territories thanks to the Save Ukraine organization

Eight children between the ages of 7 and 17 returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine from the occupied districts of Kherson and Donetsk regions. Mykola Kuleba, the founder and head of the charity organization Save Ukraine, announced this in his statement Telegram channels.
In total, Save Ukraine has already transported 405 children from Russia and the occupied Ukrainian territories.
What is known about the abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia
According to Daria Gerasimchuk, the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, as of the end of March 2023, more than 19,500 children were known to have been taken from the temporarily occupied territories to Russia, but due to the occupation, it is difficult to accurately calculate their number.
On April 5, 2023, 49 countries of the world issued a joint statement condemning the Russian Federation for holding a meeting of the Security Council regarding the alleged legal grounds for the abduction of Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories.
Great Britain blocked the broadcast of the speech of the Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights Lvova-Belova on UN resources, calling on her to answer for her actions before the court in The Hague.
The Prosecutor General’s Office noted that currently there is no single transparent algorithm or mechanism that would allow the return of Ukrainian children deported to Russia.
On March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin and Lvova-Belova, suspecting them of illegal deportation and relocation of Ukrainian children.
