After the incidents in Denmark, several drones were spotted over the territory of Schleswig-Holstein in the north of Germany. Local police and federal authorities have stepped up security and are investigating possible espionage. This is reported by NDR NDR.
Flight of several drones was recorded over Schleswig-Holstein. Interior Minister Sabina Sütterlin-Wack said the suspicion of espionage is currently being investigated. According to her, the ministry is conducting “intensive and permanent negotiations” with the federal government and the Bundeswehr, and the Land Police in cooperation with other northern regions is strengthening defense against drones. At the same time, the number of devices and the routes of their movement have not yet been disclosed.
“Where the drones came from and what is behind their flights remains unclear. All authorities are very vigilant, and the security situation has not changed, – emphasized Zütterlin-Wack.
Similar cases have already occurred in the region. At the beginning of the month, special units of the police blocked a cargo ship in the Kiel Canal, which, according to the assumption, could be used as a base for drones. On August 26, a reconnaissance and shooting device was launched from its board with the help of a naval vessel.
We will remind you that in January and August 2024, drones repeatedly flew over the Patriot Air Base in Schwezing and over critical infrastructure facilities in Brunsbüttel. Previous investigations could not identify the culprits.
