In 2026, Ukrainian female military personnel will receive body armor designed specifically for the female figure. This was announced at a press conference by the head of the supply department of the Central Logistics Directorate of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vitaly Ryabov.
According to him, currently female servicemen are issued standard combined-arms body armor.
“Starting next year, the purchase of women’s body armor is planned”, – Ryabov noted, specifying that the exact number has not yet been determined.
Senior officer of the military uniform development department of the Central Department for the Development of Material Support of the Ministry of Defense, Junior Lieutenant Maksym Borovyk, added that they have already approved damping pads that take into account the anatomical features of the female body.
“They will not cause discomfort” – he emphasized Borovyk.
He also noted that ongoing work is underway to lighten personal protective equipment, which requires a compromise between the standard of protection and the weight of the plates.
It was previously reported that the Ministry of Defense had previously approved underwear for women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which does not restrict movement and is suitable for wearing even in full equipment.
