Zelenskyy announced the preparation of new programs to directly support the population in 2026

In 2026, Ukraine plans to introduce new programs of direct support for citizens. They will be a continuation of the practice of financial assistance to the population, which has already been applied this year and has shown its effectiveness.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this in an evening address on December 23. The head of state noted that the format of direct support for citizens is widely used in the world and is a common tool of social policy in European countries and the USA. According to him, in Ukrainian conditions, such assistance has also confirmed its effectiveness both for protecting people and for supporting the domestic economy.

“We see that such forms of support really work – direct support, and not only in our country. America, Europe, other parts of the world are forming their direct support programs in one way or another. We will provide new ones for next year, “ the president emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelensky also recalled the scope of the current program “Winter Support”. According to the Ministry of Economy, more than 17.7 million Ukrainians have already submitted applications for the so-called winter thousand. Submission of applications ends on December 24. The funds received by citizens are most often used to pay for utilities, purchase medicines, and support the Defense Forces through donations.

The President emphasized that when forming support programs for 2026, the state will take into account the needs of the most vulnerable categories of the population, as well as the current economic situation. The government will present specific parameters of new initiatives later.
