Ukraine is actively expanding cooperation with foreign manufacturers. Currently, 25 foreign companies, including the world’s leading giants of the defense industry, are at various stages of localization of their production in Ukraine. This is reports the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, emphasized that each manufacturer maintains a close dialogue with the Ukrainian government:
“We offer our partners various models of cooperation, including the “Danish model”, Build with Ukraine / Build in Ukraine. The priority is that the main part of the company’s products goes to the needs of the Ukrainian army”.
In order to reduce risks for foreign investors and increase the attractiveness of joint ventures in Ukraine, the government is launching Defense City – a special regime for the development of the defense industry. It includes tax benefits, simplified customs procedures, a mechanism for transferring production to safer regions, expanding state financial support, as well as opportunities for export and integration into global production chains.
“We call on foreign companies to invest in Ukraine and open their production facilities here. It is in Ukraine that the latest weapons capable of affecting the battlefield are being created. Therefore, investing in the Ukrainian defense industry is the best investment in the defense of all of Europe,” Denys Shmyhal summarized.
