In Lviv, the start of the heating season was postponed for several weeks due to Russian shelling. This was reported by the city mayor Andriy Sadovyi.

“Now the situation in the country is such that we cannot provide heating for the next few weeks. We need to wait a little to do everything right – so that it will be warm in winter, – said Sadovy.

He called on the city’s residents to take care of alternative sources of heat and help those who cannot cope on their own.

Sadovyi also said that from October 11, Lviv will go into testing mode:

“We have to check all our resources, mechanisms, security and operational efficiency. We do it every year, but for the first time simultaneously all over the city.

According to the mayor, on the weekend in Lviv, traffic lights will be disconnected from the main power supply and transferred to backup sources to make sure that they will work in the event of a blackout.

We will remind you that on the night of October 10, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the energy system of Ukraine, which caused emergency power outages throughout the country. As a result of the attack, the thermal power plant (TPP) of the DTEK company suffered serious damage.
