3 days before the exam: what to repeat before taking the multi-subject test

During the war, Ukraine refused to test the knowledge of graduates in the form of external examinations, when it was necessary to take a test on each chosen subject separately. The replacement of the external independent assessment was the national multi-subject test (NMT), which contains questions from all the main disciplines at once.

Testing will start on May 14. A few days before the NMT, the teachers of the All-Ukrainian School published recommendations for graduates online.

What to repeat from history?

Artur Babenko, the author of history lessons for the All-Ukrainian online school, advises a few days before the test to focus most on repeating the material for the 10th-11th grade, that is, on the 20th – 21st centuries. Usually, the largest share of questions in the test refers to this period.

The teacher also singles out the period of “Ruins” on the territory of the Hetmanship as important for testing.

Videos will help you to repeat the material you have covered as quickly as possible. And if the student registers on website of the All-Ukrainian School online, then he will be able to pass training tests immediately after watching the thematic videos.

Ukrainian language

Ukrainian language teacher Artur Proydakov, winner of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2021, advises paying special attention to the topics “Syntax” and “Sentences”.

“These are defining topics for further understanding of a simple sentence, a simple complex sentence, a complex sentence. I advise you to review the lessons of the Higher School of Economics, which deal specifically with the members of the sentence and the types of sentences. They present the material in a very clear and structured way,” says the teacher.

Mathematics

There are 20 math questions in the NMT. 14 questions are ordinary tests with five answer options. There will be four more tasks to establish compliance. The two most difficult questions are open-ended tasks, answering which you will need to write a short answer in the form.

Mathematics teacher and teacher of the All-Ukrainian online school Olena Bahchedjioglu notes that it is quite difficult to predict which topics will be emphasized during the exam. Therefore, it is necessary to superficially repeat the entire course, focusing on topics with which problems arise.

“Depending on your level of preparation, time and persistence, it’s worth deciding for yourself right away what you prioritize. For example, you know that stereometry is something that takes a lot of time, you have a hard time understanding the solution, let alone then it is possible to limit yourself to the basic mastery of stereometry at the level of solving easy test problems, primarily to check the definitions, if, on the contrary, you feel quite confident and have mastered all the topics, then it is worth working more trick,” says the teacher.

Olena advises students to review the tasks of previous years from the final exam in mathematics. Trial tests can be found at the link: https://zno.osvita.ua/mathematics/tema.html

English

If we talk about the vocabulary necessary for graduates to pass the test, then Lilia Chizh, a senior teacher of the Green Country network of English language schools, advises to focus on vocabulary about travel, art, science, leisure, sports. For NMT tasks, texts from these topics are most often chosen.
