The state allocated UAH 303 million for the rehabilitation of children with disabilities in six months
In 2024, the state of Ukraine took a significant step forward in the issue of ensuring the rehabilitation of children in need of such assistance. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the country was able to allocate a record amount of funds for this extremely important social initiative.
Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine reported, which in 2024 allocated 303 million UAH for the rehabilitation of children, which is 120 million more than in 2023, and 1.8 times more than in the pre-war year 2021. This means that more than 5,600 children have already received free services, including the physical and psychological help needed to improve their health.
Imagine a child who, despite his young age, already faces difficulties that limit his mobility or ability to live a full life. She dreams of running with her friends, playing in the yard, laughing and exploring the world without pain and limitations. Her every day is a challenge, but at the same time it is hope for a better future. For such children, rehabilitation becomes a path to new opportunities, a chance to regain part of the lost health and believe that there is something more ahead. Each rehabilitation session is a step towards recovery, it is a step towards a life without pain and difficulties.
That is why the decision to allocate more funds to ensure the rehabilitation of children is not just dry numbers or budgetary indicators. This is hope for thousands of families raising children with disabilities, this is the support they need so much. Every penny spent on rehabilitation is an investment in the future generation, which will be healthy, strong and self-confident.
Rehabilitation is a key component in restoring the body’s health and functionality. This especially applies to children whose bodies are still developing, and timely medical intervention can significantly affect their future lives. In Ukraine, where war and crisis phenomena have left their mark on all aspects of social life, the rehabilitation of children with disabilities becomes even more urgent. Children affected by war, trauma or born with disabilities need special attention and support.
Every family raising a child with a disability can turn to the state for help. For this, one of the parents or the child’s legal representative must submit an application and a package of necessary documents to the social security authorities. These bodies form lists of children in need of rehabilitation services and refer them to appropriate institutions.
To receive rehabilitation services, the state fully covers their cost, which ensures equal access for all families, regardless of their financial status. This is especially important at a time when many families are facing financial difficulties due to war and economic challenges.
In addition to state support, active cooperation with international partners is also worth noting. Thus, with the support of Finland, Ukraine plans to create a rehabilitation center for children affected by the war. This shows that the international community does not remain aloof from the problems of Ukraine and provides the necessary assistance to restore the health and well-being of the youngest citizens.
Thus, the rehabilitation of children with disabilities in Ukraine has reached a new level of development. Thanks to increased funding, thousands of children get a chance for a better life.
