American society remains divided on the issue of providing military aid to Ukraine, which has been confirmed poll CBS/YouGov. 49% of respondents supported the continuation of assistance, while 51% opposed it.

Regarding the priority of developing a policy of limiting aid to Ukraine for the newly elected President Donald Trump, opinions are also divided: 33% of respondents consider it a high priority, 36% – medium, and 31% said that it is not an important task at all.

The poll also reflected Americans’ attitudes toward other items on Trump’s agenda. In particular, 52% supported an increase in trade tariffs, although 59% expect it to cause prices to rise. In the field of immigration, 57% of respondents spoke in favor of an active program of finding and deporting illegal migrants.

The survey was conducted from November 19 to 22 among 2,232 respondents. Its results were released amid fears that military support to Ukraine may be cut off after Donald Trump returns to the White House.

At the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, aid to Kyiv had broad bipartisan support in the United States. However, as the war dragged on, more and more Republicans became skeptical of continued funding. This year, the House of Representatives, led by the Republican Party, delayed for several months the adoption of a draft law that included military aid to Ukraine.
